In-home pet care means your pet stays in their own home — I do not stay overnight at your house.
Instead, I stop by for visits throughout the day. Your dog or cat stays in the comfort of their own home, with their own bed, toys, and routine, while I come and go for feeding, walks, potty breaks, playtime and everything else they need.
If your pet needs someone present overnight, in-home care isn't the right fit — please keep that in mind before booking.

Being away from your pets is hard enough. Pictures and updates let you know how your babies are doing while you're gone.

For the safety of your pet, I do not provide insulin injections or administer high-risk medications.
Please let me know about any medications or special medical needs before booking so I can confirm whether I'm able to safely provide the care your pet needs.
I currently service clients within 25 minutes of the Frankfort area.
I do not travel more than 25 minutes for bookings. Because in-home boarding requires multiple daily trips, clients who are 25 minutes away may be declined on some weekends depending on my schedule and availability.
Monday–Friday, I will not accept in-home boarding bookings that are 21–25 minutes away, since the multiple daily trips would be too far for my weekday schedule.
Travel fees help cover the extra gas and time for longer-distance visits. ♡

Hi, I'm Ava! I'm 18 and I started Home & Hound Pet Care two summers ago when I was 16. As a senior in high school, cross country runner, and dog owner of five pups, I know how important it is to find someone you trust.
It all actually started with my dog Sophia. I walk her about 3 miles every day, and one day my dad suggested I should start walking dogs around our neighborhood. I posted about it on the Peotone community page, so many people were interested, and eventually I expanded Home & Hound into in-home pet care and boarding.
Having five dogs myself, I know how expensive boarding can become, especially with multiple pets. I also personally prefer when my dogs can stay in the comfort of their own home, surrounded by their normal routine and familiar things. That made me want to give other families the same option.
Every dog and cat I care for has their own personality, routine, and little quirks, and I love getting to know them. I treat every pet with the same care and attention that I would want someone to give my own five dogs.
